You asked for a step up from a Ruby's Newbies event. This is one. This area was closed due to a fire in 2005. It was recently reopened due the the work of Tral, a non profit focused on work in the Tonto National Forest.
Unfortunately, shortly after it opened, another fire went thru and the area was closed for a short time. This trail includes climbs, descents, off camber and enough challenges to keep you on your toes.
If you don't have a lift or Sasquatch, you may have some issues. Running boards will become gifts to the trail gods. Lockers are highly desired.
This is a one-way trail since it is a narrow trail with minimal areas to pass.
Entry into this area now requires a permit from Recreation.Gov
A 3 day permit is $10, a 6 month is $60 and an annual pass is $80. Be sure to purchase your pass before to head out and print a copy to show rangers if you are stopped.
Due to the narrow trail and minimal areas to pass, we want to keep our group smaller so we are limiting it to 15 rigs plus Trail lead/tail.
If you plan on going, you must select going so we can monitor the anticipated group. If you sign up as going and have to cancel, please change to not going so it will open up a spot for someone else.
